By Alison

There are so many interesting book sections in a library that there is bound to be something to inspire you. If you don't use your local library or only ever look at the same sections, try investigating the other shelves. Libraries are full of fascinating, informative, inspirational books - and they're all free to borrow! Browse the following book sections in a library and see what you discover …

1 Self-Help

One of the book sections in a library that may make a huge difference to your life is the self-help section. Some self-help books can be rather irritating, but others are written in an appealing tone. You can find books that will help you deal with mental health issues, improve your relationships, and get a better job. Have a look and see what you can find to improve your life!

2 Travel

Would you like to travel, but don't have the money or time? Borrow some travel books anyway and be an armchair traveler. It's nice to dream of the places you'd like to visit. But if you can't make the actual journey, you can still read about interesting destinations and plan your dream trip. It's cheaper than actually traveling - and you don't have to deal with any hassles!

3 Creative

Are you into crafts? You're sure to find some books in the craft section to inspire you. Perhaps you'd like to take up a new hobby, or learn how to knit or paint. Crafting is a very relaxing hobby and it's fun to be able to create something original for yourself or for someone else.

4 Finance

You might think that finance and business are really boring subjects, but have a look at some of the books in this section and you might be surprised at how much you can learn from them. Everyone should educate themselves about personal finance. Besides, you might be inspired to start your own business or find a new career.

5 Biographies

Look through the biography section and you'll find the lives of actors, scientists, pioneers, important historical figures, and many more. It can be fascinating to learn more about people whose name you know. If you're interested in women's history, you'll find the stories of many famous women.

6 History

History is not boring, really it isn't. If you've always thought it was the dullest subject at school, then blame your teachers or the curriculum. Look for a book that inspires you and you'll discover just how interesting the past is. Pick up a book on Ancient Greece or medieval England, and read about the lives of our ancestors. We're maybe not so different from them after all - but different enough for it to be interesting.

7 Art

Lastly, the art section is full of beautiful books on every era and school of art. Browse through the books until you find something that speaks to you. If you're not so much into painting, look at the photography section. But just enjoy looking at the beauty that the art geniuses of the past have created.

Public libraries are an amazing resource that we should make the most of. Take a look at subjects you wouldn't normally be interested in - you might be surprised at what you can find there to interest you. What is your favorite section in the library?
