However, there's no need to worry, because there are books out there that you'll love nearly as much as you loved hearing tales about Hogwarts. Here are a few contenders that Harry Potter fans should enjoy:
1 The Magicians by Lev Grossman
This is a New York Time's bestselling novel about a college in the "real world" that teaches magic. It's a bit raunchier than Harry Potter's story was, because this one contains quite a bit of sex and booze. Of course, there's plenty of magic in it as well in order to give you your fantasy fix.
2 Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
This series contains five books and three graphic novels. It's about a man, who just so happens to be a demigod, that is enrolled in a training camp with others like him. If you buy one of these books, be prepared to buy them all, because you won't be able to stop reading.

3 House of Secrets by Chris Columbus and Ned Vizzini
J.K. Rowling has given a fantastic review of this book, which should be incentive enough to read it yourself. It's about three siblings who end up in a forest filled with supernatural beings and warriors. They need to work together in order to survive the new place they've been thrown into, because they entire world depends on it.
4 Spellfall by Katherine Roberts
This is an adorable fantasy novel about a young girl who is kidnapped by a wizard. Although she is imprisoned, it gives her the chance to explore her powers and discover just how strong she is. It takes place in two different worlds, so if you believe that our universe isn't the only one that exists, you should enjoy this novel.
5 His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
This is a trilogy that will have you on the edge of your seat. It's about two children who end up stumbling through various parallel universes, complete with witches and armed polar bears. Although the books are aimed at young adults, they're stories that any age group can enjoy.
6 Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
This is a series of eight fantasy novels. It's about a teenage criminal who ends up capturing a fairy. After he does, he holds her for ransom in order to gain money for his struggling family. However, over eight entire books, it's natural for the main character to change. So by the end of the series, the criminal is a completely different person than he once was.
7 Anything else by J.K. Rowling
J.K. Rowling has written more about Hogwarts than you could ever imagine. Not only are there seven Harry Potter books, but she's also written books called The Tales of Beatle the Bard, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Quidditch Through the Ages. Although it was originally under a pseudonym, she's also written an amazing book called Cuckoo's Calling. Although it has nothing to do with magic or a fantasy world, it showcases some of her best work.
You might never stumble across a book you love as much as Harry Potter, but these novels could come close. Which Harry Potter book was your favorite of the series?
