1. The Hobbit

The Hobbit It can be argued that this line is the strongest message in this marvelous novel by famed author J.R.R. Tolkien; as one of the most brilliant quotes from classic novels, it isn't difficult thinking about this saying outside the context of the story. There isn't anything wrong with not having set plans for the future; beautiful things happen when you least expect them to. Isn't life supposed to be all about the journey and not the destination?

2. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire This quote from the amazing Harry Potter series always stuck out to me because the amount of truth ingrained into its very core. Author J.K. Rowling has always been fantastic at writing passages that bear a deeper meaning than a surface level reading could ever provide. Everyone is connected by the fact that no one is perfect. There shouldn't be any room for egos and pride to get in the way of treating one another with honor and respect.

3. The Hound of the Baskervilles

The Hound of the Baskervilles People often spend so much time focusing on their own lives that they fail to see what is right in front of them. This message directly correlates to the overall premise of the Sherlock Holmes series. To be exact, the great detective always manages to gain the upper hand when solving crimes while everyone else is usually left in a puddle of confusion; instead of looking at what's right in front of them, people end up further complicating the situation by not paying attention.

4. The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby The strength behind this quote from "Great Gatsby" is astonishing. The idea of life going through a constant renewal or rebirth is truly humbling. In the same manner that the trees grow new leaves, people continue to grow into the person they are meant to be.

5. The Outsiders

The Outsiders I don't think that I have ever been as in love with four words as I am now. When it comes down to the meaning, the possibilities are endless. For instance, gold could be a reference to staying true to who you are. I think the fact that the message is ambiguous, thus allowing the reader to forge their own definition, is utterly brilliant.

6. Twelfth Night

Twelfth Night I will always have room in my heart for William Shakespeare and his witty literary works. I believe that true love cannot be forced; you'll only find it when you are least expecting it. Let it come to you, without any restraints or any rules.

7. Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wilde Last but not least, while this quote by Oscar Wilde isn't from a particular text, I think it completely embodies what I've always thought. The type of books you read in your spare time, when you're not prompted to do so, hint at your real personality. I feel like my inner core is the combination of all the works I've read; I always find myself relating to some point in most of the plots I come across.

There's a reason why these books are considered classics. Their ability to provoke thought will always fascinate me. What are some of your favorite quotes from classic novels?

Kind if stretching the meaning of "classic" by adding Harry Potter to the list. It's a good set of books, but not exactly something that makes you think.
