If you're a fan of Sam and Dean, then you'll need a way to survive the show's hiatuses. Since you've already seen ghosts and demons on the television, the best way to get your fix is by reading stories. It doesn't matter if you prefer angels, demons, or werewolves, because there are novels that cover every topic that you can think of. Here are a few books that all of you Winchester fans are sure to enjoy:
1. The Demon’s Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan
The main character in this book, Nick, has a few things in common with Sam and Dean. His father is dead, his mother is out of his life, and he'll do anything to save his brother. When that brother is marked by a demon, Nick knows that the only way to save his sibling from death is by finding a magician and killing him. It doesn't take long for the pair to set out to do just that.
2. Cal Deandros by Rob Thurman
Don't you love how Sam and Dean are some of the only people in their world who know about supernatural creatures? If you do, then you'll enjoy this series of books about the dangers of New York City. Even though most people believe that monsters are myths, the main character of this novel knows that they're as real as any human. How does he know this? Because he's only half-human himself.
3. Angelfall by Susan Ee
Supernatural would be nothing without Castiel. If he's your favorite character, then you'll enjoy this book series about angels that come down to earth in order to start the apocalypse. After a warrior angel flies away with the main character's little sister, she decides that she'll do whatever it takes in order to get her back.
4. Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce
When Scarlett tried to defend her sister against werewolves, they ended up taking her eye. Now, she's out for revenge. She wants to destroy as many of the werewolves as she can in order to prevent other women from getting attacked. She won't rest until they're all dead.
5. Necromancer by Lish McBride
Ironically, the main character in this book is named Sam. He's just an average boy (or so he thinks), until he meets a man named Douglas. Douglas is a necromancer that is capable of raising the dead, and he helps Sam discover that he's actually a necromancer, too.
6. Unbreakable by Kami Garcia
This book begins with the mother of the main character dying. When the daughter realizes that it's not just a normal death, and that ghosts were actually responsible, she decides to join a group of teens to defeat paranormal entities. Basically, she turns into a hunter.
7. Bonechiller by Graham McNamee
This is a supernatural thriller set in Canada. It's about a boy and his friends who end up stumbling across a creature that kills. It's not only dangerous in reality, but it's dangerous in dreams as well. It won't stop stalking the main character as he sleeps, so he knows that he has to take action if he wants to survive.
As much as you'd like to watch Supernatural all day, it's impossible. That's why you should use some of your time to read these amazing books. Who is your favorite character on the show?
