When I first became a vegetarian, my grandma bought me several vegetarian cookbooks that really helped me learn how to cook vegetarian food. Without those cookbooks I probably would have had pasta with tomato sauce every night for dinner. However, following the recipes taught me that vegetarian food can be very delicious and is not limited to pasta. Even my non-vegetarian friends have loved the food I make from my vegetarian cookbooks. Shaw is very adept at creating recipes full of spices and herbs that complement each other. There is even a section at the end that discusses the flavor profiles of all the different herbs and spices and how to combine them together in your own recipes. She also includes many tips on how to change the recipes to create something new. In many ways this cookbook also teaches you how to be a chef.
