You could say that this is the book that started it all. Published in 1792 by an independent woman and well-known writer (she was among the ranks of William Blake and Thomas Paine), calling A Vinidcation of the Rights of Woman anything other than revolutionary would be an insult. Wollstonecraft argued that men only wanted women as slaves and play things, but that women could free themselves from objectification through education.
