Beauty All around

Beauty All around As one of the most heartfelt and heart-wrenching motivational quotes from books, Anne's Frank ability to stay positive during such a horrible and trying time is just powerful. These words put everything into perspective for me. I learned that being grateful for what you do have instead of fretting over what you don't can go a long way, even though it isn't always easy.

2

Drink

Drink Even though I'm not big on drinking, I have to say that I fully agree with this quote. Adding alcohol to the equation when you feel as if everything is gong wrong will only make things worse. It's important to be able to think clearly; plus, what better way is there to have a good time than to toast great news with close friends? Author G.K. Chesterton makes a good point here.

Happy Thoughts & Sunshine

Happy Thoughts & Sunshine This line from Roald Dahl's book The Twits is definitely onto something. The more you let yourself be overcome with negative thoughts and energy, the more it begins to show and take over your life. Just be happy for your accomplishments, try again if you've failed at something and keep rising to the top. Worry about the rest later.

4

Enjoy Life

Enjoy Life Although these words by Barbara De Angelis aren't from a book, they describe my mindset perfectly. The message that only you alone can make the decision to be happy and enjoy life couldn't be more accurate. You should always live life to the fullest and with no regrets!

5

Just Be

Just Be These words are by "Kozma Petrovich Prutkov" (a penname used by four poets - although Leo Tolstoy is often assumed to have penned this quote). I think it's safe to say that everyone has been plagued by the fear of being happy (only for the cause of said happiness to disappear) at some point in their lives. Why let yourself get in the way of your happiness? Going through life waiting for the other shoe to drop is unhealthy and is incredibly damaging to your inner self.

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Light

Light Spoken by Albus Dumblebore, this quote has really been my rock for the past few months. When I became really sick earlier this year, it was hard trying to stay positive after constantly stressing over the amount of work and assignments I missed out on. Reading this helped drag my mind out of the negative thoughts that would always find their way to the top. Only you can control your happiness.

7

Smile

Smile Lastly, life is too short to go through it being unhappy and unsatisfied. You have to make your own happiness. This can also apply when you find someone that truly makes you happy; it will show in the smile that you won't be able to keep off of your face and the way you skip with a beat as you walk. This is one of the reasons why it's important to surround yourself with positive people.

Being happy should always be the way of life. What are some happy quotes that you can't resist posting on your friends' walls? Are there any books with positive messages that you would recommend to someone going through a hard time?

"Blessed are the cracked, for it is they who let in the light" i have always loved that quote because it reminds me to not take life so serious, have fun, be goofy, and smile like a crazed madman!

The Noticer - by Andy Andrews. A great message about perspective and how it can make all the difference.
